Charlotte Ashcroft

Charlotte has established herself as one of the leading secondary school orienteers in the country. She is a six-time North Island Secondary Schools Champion and a two-time National Secondary Schools Champion, demonstrating remarkable consistency at the highest level. Her success also extends beyond New Zealand as she represented New Zealand at the Australian “Run the River” Championships, where she helped secure third place in the relay.

Her contributions to her school community have been equally impressive. Charlotte has earned the Gold Sports Award for Orienteering at Baradene College and has twice been part of the Baradene Junior Team of the Year for their relay performances.

Charlotte’s transition into competitive running has been marked by rapid progress and strong results. She placed third in her first road race at the Auckland Secondary Schools Championships. She also played a key role in her team’s second-place finish at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Road Relay Festival.

Her development on the track has been equally impressive. Within the span of a single week, Charlotte lowered her 800m personal best by 3 seconds and her 1500m best by 12 seconds, showcasing her growing speed, strength, and competitive maturity.

Charlotte brings the same discipline to her studies as she does to her sport. She has achieved Excellence across all Mathematics and Science exams, earned an overall Excellence in English Award, and received Excellence grades across Social Studies. Her academic success reflects her curiosity, focus, and ability to perform under pressure - qualities that complement her athletic pursuits.
