Angela Baird has established herself as a leading young athlete at St Cuthbert’s College, winning the Year 7 Athletics and Cross Country Championships in 2024 and returning in 2025 to claim the same Year 8 titles. Those performances earned her the St Cuthbert’s College Year 7 and Year 8 Sportswoman Award for two consecutive years. In 2025, Angela enjoyed significant success in national orienteering competitions, being a member of the winning Girls’ Team Relay at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Orienteering Championships (NZSSOC). She then followed that in 2026 with yet another victory in the Junior Girls’ Team Relay. She added a further championship result by winning the Girls’ 2000m Open Race Walk at the 2026 North Island Secondary Schools Athletics Championships (NISS). Her ability to transition between different disciplines and perform under championship conditions demonstrates a strong competitive mindset and considerable athletic versatility.
